Born 2 Be Eagle News Staff!

By Peter Stefo -- Eagle Staff Writer

This year's newspaper has a new lineup of students on staff. With three new members and two returning writers, this semester's staff is a tight knit group of five. Keep a lookout for updates and new issues on https://www.eagleonlinenews.com/.

Our oldest and most experienced staff member is returning again for her third year on staff. Lillian Lovette signed up for another round of journalism because she enjoys it. She loves writing and recently she has begun taking more photos for the paper. “I used to like writing more, but now that I can use the camera better, I like to take pictures of everything,” Lovette explains. She is an avid Taylor Swift listener and loves the movie "Coraline". When asked what she was born to be, Lovette shows her kindness by saying, “I feel like I was born to be a safe space for other people.”

Peter Stefo is a senior and starting his second year on the newspaper staff. “At first I joined it because it was recommended to me by a friend, but now I do it because I enjoy it,” Stefo explains. He leans more towards the writing aspect of journalism. He enjoys weightlifting and watching TV shows in his free time. “I wasn't born to be anything, I'm just the person I am,” he says, and staff are glad for all that he is.

Cassidy Conner is a senior and one of our new writers this year. She enjoys reading and spending time with her friends. She also has old-school tastes in music with her favorite song being Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. Her dream career is to be a pediatric nurse and she believes that it is what she was born to be. “I love children and I want to support them, to help them when they’re in need and care for that vulnerable population,” Conner says.

Giuseppe Knarr is a junior and is new to this year's staff. He joined this class because he enjoys writing and taking pictures. He enjoys photography the most because “you can catch what you see and keep it forever,” he said. Knarr is a gamer and he listens to underground music such as Tyler The Creator. His favorite movie is "Intergalactic". As for what he was born to be: “I think I was born to be free," Knarr says. The staff is glad to have his free spirit onboard this semester.

Next we have Chelsi Valdez, who is beginning as a sophomore on this year's staff. She joined this class because she enjoys writing. Valdez claims that she isn’t a very interesting person outside of school.  “I'm a pretty boring person out of school; I like to sleep,” Valdez says, but she also enjoys horror movies and drawing. She likes drawing so much that she wants to explore that for her career. “I want to be an architect. I've always liked drawing buildings; the idea of making someone's dream home is just so cool to me,” Valdez explains.

This semester's newspaper staff looks forward to sharing all the important news and events around campus, and welcome your suggestions for future issues.
